Oklahoma Jails Secured Following Detainee Cutting in Northeastern Oklahoma

HOMINY, Okla. — The Oklahoma Division of Revisions has secured all jails statewide and dropped all appearances following a cutting at a medium security jail in northeastern Oklahoma.


"It was detainee on prisoner," division representative Kay Thompson said Saturday. "We're actually attempting to figure everything out and we will be on statewide lockdown until essentially Monday."


Thompson said she was unable to deliver additional data about the cutting in view of the continuous examination concerning the occurrence at the Dick Conner Remedial Center in Hominy, around 30 miles (48 kilometers) northwest of Tulsa.

The Dick Conner Remedial Center likewise has a base security jail on its grounds and houses around 1,200 prisoners, as per the Division of Redresses site.


In September 2021, penitentiaries statewide were secured following what specialists said were posse related assaults that harmed a few detainees at six of the division's 21 jails, including the Dick Conner Remedial Center.
